United player to return to squad

|

According to Samuel Luckhurst from the Manchester Evening News, he is reporting that Brandon Williams is expected to be on the plane to Spain and return to the United squad after a three-month layoff.

Manchester United are heading to Spain for a warm-weather training camp and have two friendlies lined-up for those players who are not representing their nations at the current FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The games are against Cadiz CF and Real Betis, which are scheduled to take place on the 7th December and 10th December respectively.

Williams is expected to feature in the friendly games as Erik ten Hag will get his first opportunity to look at the full-back, who made his breakthrough for United during the 2019/20 season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer where he made 36 appearances for the Reds that season [Transfermarkt.com].

The United academy graduate has fully recovered from a long-term injury that saw him miss pre-season and the first three months of the season.

The 21-year-old did get some useful game time for Norwich in the Premier League last season as he made 26 appearances for the Canaries [Transfermarkt.com], and he was hoping to kick on this season but injuries have limited him.

Williams could force his way into the United squad this season if he impresses ten Hag during the training camp in Spain because it feels as though Aaron Wan-Bissaka is surplus to requirements, with a number of clubs such as Crystal Palace exploring the possibility of re-signing him [Daily Mail].

Williams has been posting on his Instagram that shows him working hard during the break as he aims to get himself ready for the upcoming camp in Spain.
