United Midfielder Wants How Much To Sign New Deal?

If I were a betting man, would I bet a huge sum of money on Paul Pogba being a Manchester United player next season?

Probably not!

Although the news, relating to the Frenchman remaining at Old Trafford has been somewhat positive, with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s words of wisdom on the subject settling our fears, I’m still troubled by all the speculation continuing to appear in the mainstream media.

Today is a typical example.

The tabloid publication, the Sun, continues to muddy the waters by running with an article that infers Real Madrid’s interest in the 26-year-old could prove costly, on a financial basis, to Manchester United.

Although Pogba’s contract still has two years to run, our referenced source goes on to suggest Manchester United, in order to deflect any interest from the Bernabeu, are looking at possibly putting a three-year contract extension on the stay at Old Trafford on a long-term basis.

However, our quoted source is implying that Pogba would want a weekly salary of circa £500,000 to put pen-to-paper on any reputed deal.

It’s a huge sum to pay one player but, then again, where in the transfer market are you likely to find a layer of a similar ilk to the powerful midfielder?
