If reports appearing in the media are correct, Manchester United are looking at bringing in an experienced midfielder, who has Premier League experience, for nothing.

The French news source, leparisien, is suggesting that Manchester United are going head-to-head for Lassana Diarra with Paris Saint-Germain.

Diarra, now thirty-two-years-of-age, has played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth in the Premier League and we believe he was on the books of Chelsea when Jose Mourinho was in charge at the West London club.

The former French international is a free-agent after leaving the United Arab Emirates club, Al Jazira, last month.

If the deal does get done, we`re of the opinion that Diarra wouldn`t be a regular in the starting eleven but could become a valuable squad member filling in when necessary.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll keep an eye out for any further developments on this rumour and report back as deemed necessary.
