United Linked with Bayern Munich Defender

|

Speculation, relating to Manchester United bringing in a world-class centre-back, this summer, continues to gather momentum.

This morning, gracing the pages of the leading tabloid publication this nation produces, The Sun is the insinuation that Manchester United are looking towards Bavaria for that world-class centre-back.

Our aforementioned source is of the belief that Manchester United are willing to meet the asking price, of £50 million, for the Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

However, as you`d imagine, we`re not alone in showing an interest in the player, with our referenced source pointing out that amongst others, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City are also monitoring the situation.

Furthermore, it is also being suggested that it is our neighbours who might have the edge in this particular race, the reason being that the player was on the books of the club seven years ago and also that Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the player having coached him when the Spaniard was in charge of Bayern Munich.

But, perhaps Boateng is of the view a fresh challenge is required although it`ll take some persuasive talking for the 29-year-old to put pen-to-paper on a deal at Old Trafford we think.
