United – It’s a Ridiculous Amount Of Money, It’s Time To Call A Halt To These Ludicrous Salaries

Although Paul Pogba’s current contract still has two years to run, I’m probably not alone in suggesting I wouldn’t bet my mortgage on the French midfielder still being at the club in a couple of years.

All summer the 26-year-old was, in a plethora of speculation, linked with a return to mainland Europe, either with Real Madrid or Juventus.

Now whether that speculation will ramp up in January, once the window opens, we can only wait and see, but my view is that I wouldn’t be surprised if it did.

Today, our associates at The Mirror, are running with an interesting article relating to the possibility that I, and several others, could be proved wrong and that not only will Pogba remain at Old Trafford for the remainder of his current contract but could well put pen-to-paper on a new deal.

However, although a new deal is discussed, there’s no positive news apart from the fact that Manchester United are, according to our source, denying that the French international has asked for a salary of £600,000 a week!

I should damn well hope so!

Players are already on astronomical salaries and it is my opinion there should be a salary cap enforced, worldwide, before things get totally out of hand.

Is it a view you concur with?
