United could be a “realistic option” for Kane – Dean Jones

|

According to reliable journalist Dean Jones, Manchester United are one of two clubs in the Premier League that could be “realistic options” [GiveMeSport] for Harry Kane should he leave Tottenham Hotspur and want to remain in England’s top-flight.

Kane is competing at the World Cup with England, where he has grabbed three assists for his team-mates that has helped the Three Lions advance to the knockout stages, where they will face Senegal on Saturday.

Even though, a transfer will not be in Kane’s mind as he is focused on the World Cup, there has been speculation that Man United could make a move for the England captain because according to reports in Spain (via the Manchester Evening News), United could attempt to sign him as they aim to add much needed depth to their forward line and sign a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

It would not be a surprise to see if United are in the market for a striker because they are now short up front, following the departure of Ronaldo after the club and the Portuguese captain parted ways after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.

One club outside the Premier League that the Tottenham striker has been heavily linked with is Bayern Munich because in September, ‘Sky Sports Paper Talk’ via the Daily Mail said that the Bundesliga champions  ‘want Harry Kane to hold off signing a new contract at Tottenham’ so that it would be easier for them to secure his services [Daily Mail].

Dean Jones was speaking exclusively to Give Me Sport and he believes that if Kane wants to remain in the Premier League then there are only two clubs who could be “realistic options” for the England striker and those clubs are Manchester United and Newcastle United.

What has Jones said about Kane and Man Utd?

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “If he stays in England, it looks like there are only two realistic options and they’re quite different.

“One would be Man United, where you’re looking at Premier League history and traditions and hoping that they’re about to turn a corner and reclaim past glories.”
