Ronaldo Thinks Rangnick at United was a Bad Decision

In his interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo mentioned how he felt disrespected by new boss Erik Ten Hag but he also said something about his predecessor in Ralf Rangnick.

When Ralf Rangnick came into Manchester United a lot of fans were thrilled that he was the interim manager with fellow Premier League German managers in Jurgen Klopp and former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel adopting the Gegenpressing in the league and playing positive and attacking football which United fans had not seen in a while.

Whilst trying to play this way it was evident that the players at United at that current time were not able to play that type of football this was not down to Rangnick because he had a short spell at the club but it almost seemed like Murtough and the board wanted to play positive football but didn’t realise the players were not capable which is ultimately why Rangnicks reign to United was so short.

With him going on record saying that the reds could have signed Luis Diaz now at Liverpool and Erling Haaland now at Manchester City, however, the board decided not to sign anyone in the window, which you can see why because Ralf was only in temporary.

However, it almost seemed like the season was over when they did not sign anyone because top-four hopes looked hard to come by especially with the results the team was getting.

Ronaldo seems to have a point about the appointment of Rangnick in the way that he last managed RB Leipzig for a season in the 2015/16 Bundesliga campaign and ever since then he was a Director of football at Leipzig and then a five-month spell at Lokomotiv Moscow before he took over at Old Trafford.
