Having not started a Premier League game since December, there were fears that Marcus Rashford`s place in the England World Cup squad might be at risk.

However, after scoring two goals against Liverpool, in front of Gareth Southgate, it appears that the youngster will be going to Russia come what may, with Jose Mourinho informing the media after the victory,

‘I spoke with Gareth Southgate a few weeks ago and Gareth told me it doesn’t matter if he plays or he doesn’t play.

‘He trusts the kid and the kid goes to the World Cup, so he didn’t need to impress Gareth, Gareth knows what he is and Gareth knows that he can give us things at the World Cup.’

That`s a big relief and we`d say a weight off Rashford`s mind.
