|

Here are our player ratings from Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.

David de Gea 6/10 – The Manchester United ‘keeper did not have much to do but he did his job when he was called upon. He produced a good save from Gustavo Scarpa’s volley. It was his pass in the build up that helped United score their second.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 6/10 – Should have made a recovery sprint for one of the Forest attacks in the first half, but he was more composed in the second half.

Victor Lindelof 7/10 – A rusty opening 45 minutes, but it was his first start since January 3rd. The more the game went on, the better he played. Performed well in the second half as he carried the ball effectively and defended well.

Lisandro Martinez 8/10 – My Player of the Match, and he was Sky’s as well. The United defender was dominant in the air and he played a key role in helping United score their first.

Tyrell Malacia 6/10 – The Dutchman was sloppy at times in the first-half, however, just like Wan-Bissaka, he had a more composed second half.

Christian Eriksen 6.5/10 – Hit the cross bar with a great effort, and he played the ball well at times.

Casemiro 7/10 – Played a key part in United’s second goal of the game and he showed just how much important he is to this United side.

Antony 7/10 – Performed really well and he was more direct, taking on the Forest defenders. He offered United a useful option on the right.

Bruno Fernandes 7/10 – United’s creative midfielder scored a superb goal to make it 3-0 and put United in a brilliant position to reach the final of the Carabao Cup.

Marcus Rashford 7/10 – Scored a well-taken left foot goal and his directness caused the Forest back-line some issues, however, his passing was off during some moments during the game.

Wout Weghorst 7/10 – Performed really well. His team-mates should have passed to him more in the first-half as he was open a few times. Nevertheless, he scored his first goal for United as he reacted quicker than the Forest defenders to Antony’s strike.

Fred 6/10 – Brought his energy to the midfield as United looked to see the game out.

Garnacho 6/10 – Not as bright as his previous substitute appearances but he should get his opportunity against Reading in the FA Cup.

Facundo Pellistri 6.5/10 – Looked bright when he came on, tracked back and produced a good cross for Weghorst.

Anthony Elanga 6/5/10 – Nice chipped assist for Bruno Fernandes goal, and is likely to start on Saturday.
