Opinion: United’s Deal For Portuguese Midfielder Gets Closer To Being Completed

As another piece of the transfer jigsaw falls into place.

Our last utterance on the subject of the Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes joining us, we reported that the united-deal-for-midfielder-was-far-from-collapsing-but it was-just-at-a-delicate-stage and reported that the players’ agent was in Manchester conducting talks.

We also implied that there may be some negotiating to do regarding the transfer fee with the two clubs circa £20 million apart.

Today, it would appear, according to The Sport Witness that the deal has moved a little closer.

Our quoted source is suggesting that the 24-year-old is now sold on the deal, after talking to representatives of Manchester United.

Furthermore, our source goes on to suggest that Fernandes is due, in Manchester, for a medical.

Now, so it would seem, all Manchester United have to do is reach an amicable agreement with Sporting Lisbon over that fee.

It’s good news for United supporters but there is still a way to go to get this one over the finishing line, let’s all keep those fingers crossed.
