Martinez Reveals Desire to join Ten Hag at United

|

Newly crowned World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez has spoken this past week about how his move to United came about with the influence of Erik Ten Hag.

Ten Hag said “At a certain point, Lisandro Martinez called me up and said: ‘Coach, listen, I will leave Ajax no matter what. I can sign for Arsenal, but if you want me, I will go to Manchester United.”[UtdPlug]

It is really interesting to see the influence of Erik Ten Hag on the players that he used to coach at Ajax with most of them seeming to have a lot of admiration and respect for the Dutchman.

This comes from the philosophy he has always gone by in his managerial skill set, demanding respect and focus from the players and knowing that if they do that they will win matches and trophies and Ten Hag has shown that perfectly during his time in Amsterdam.

He will look to implement that philosophy into the Manchester United players as well. Very much like the summer transfer window, the upcoming January transfer window will show that United will dominate the headlines and reports coming out of football in the Netherlands.

Almost seems, like Ten Hag has made United look like they have got the Eredivisie locked up and the players that want to move out of Holland, United will look to have a first go at signing them, which is very hard to do.

A similar system seems to be in place in Germany and the Bundesliga with most players looking to go to Bayern Munich because of the stature and how well run of a club they are.

But for Ten Hag to do this in another country in which he is not managing is truly magnificent.
