Manchester United Set To Hijack Move For Central Defender

Do Manchester United really need to sign another central defender?

Do we not have sufficient numbers and quality on our books?

According to the media it would appear not.

Today, lurking in the pages of The Express is the insinuation that Manchester United are not just showing a passing interest in the Lille centre-back, Gabriel Magalhaes, but are keen to purchase him.

The Brazilian U-20 defender is currently being targeted by the Serie A side, Napoli.

However, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is keen to hijack the deal believing Magalhaes will be the perfect partner for Harry Maguire.

Sat here in the editorial chair, I have to admit that I’ve seen very little of Magalhaes in action but, at 22-years-of-age, he would appear ripe for a move to the Premier League.

But what are your views on this possible purchase?

Does it get a thumbs-up or a thumbs down from you?
