Manchester United Ladies Team in the Offering

|

Just recently, there seems to have been a huge furore being made over the fact that Manchester United, just like Real Madrid, don`t have a senior women`s team.

Questions have been frequently asked as to why this is the case with most other Premier League clubs having ventured into the women`s game.

Well, it now seems that the questions have been answered in emphatic style with Manchester United announcing that they have made a bid to join next season`s women`s second tier.

However, just because Manchester United have applied to join the second tier it doesn`t mean the bid will be successful.

It seems that the Football Association have to sit in judgement to approve the bid and that decision will not be forthcoming until the end of May.

If the bid is approved then there is the small matter of trials to be held to assemble a side, all of which will take time.

Therefore, it`s fair to say that although Manchester United have started their journey, it is still a long road they have to navigate before they can even be considered to be in the same league as the likes of Chelsea Ladies and Manchester City Ladies.

But hey, it`s a start is it not!
