After making his first senior appearance for the Manchester United senior side, Facundo Pellistri gave a heartwarming interview when speaking to the club’s official media team.
Erik ten Hag gave Pellistri his first competitive minutes in a United shirt and the Uruguay international did not disappoint as he contributed to the 3-0 win both defensively and offensively.
Pellistri has had to wait for his opportunity and you could argue that he certainly impressed in his first competitive outing in a United shirt.

The Uruguayan provided an assist for Marcus Rashford’s opening goal and the 20-year-old also did his defensive duties towards the end of the game, which shows that he has the work-rate and attitude to make more appearances for United under the Dutchman.

The United number 28 looked lively during his cameo as he showed his skills and pace, which caused some problems for the Charlton backline, and after the game, he told the club’s official media team how he felt about making his debut for Manchester United, which has been a long time coming.
“[It was] amazing,” said Facundo, in an interview with MUTV.
“I have been waiting for this moment for a long time, and it came. Of course, I’m really happy because of the moment and the way it was, and that is incredible.
“I had the luck to be at Old Trafford in other squads, but unluckily I didn’t enter the pitch to play. I looked at the crowd and all the time I thought ‘when will my moment arrive to play?’ And today was the day and I enjoyed it a lot” [Man Utd].
“Yes of course [I was eager to play],” he said. “I am very happy, and I want to help my team-mates to achieve all the trophies that we have in mind and to win every game we have because this is an incredible club and very big.
“All players want to play and of course I want more. I will fight and train hard to continue this way” [Man Utd].
With United having a lot of games to navigate in the second half of the season, hopefully Pellistri can play more games because United will need to freshen up their squad for certain games, and last night the former Alaves man showed that he is more than capable of featuring regularly.
