United are currently the only English side remaining in all four competitions (Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Europa League and Premier League) and they are aiming to end their five-year wait for a major trophy and success in the Carabao Cup gives them their best shot of doing so as they are in the last four.
With United’s last success coming in 2017 back in Stockholm in the Europa League after defeating Ajax 2-0, the United manager is hoping that his side can write their name in the Manchester United history books and help the club bring back silverware back to Old Trafford.
The game against Steve Cooper’s side is an important one for United because if they win the game at the City Ground, then they will put themselves in a good position to reach the final of the Carabao Cup at Wembley with the second leg to come at Old Trafford next week.
United and Forest meet at the City Ground for the first time in 23 years, with the game scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time.
