Deal For World Class United Star To Stay At Old Trafford Is Now Back On Course

|

At long last.

Although there is always a hint of excitement in the air when either the January or summer transfer windows are open, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that as well as adding to the squad, it is essential that we ensure those we value highly, who are already at Old Trafford, are tied down to long deals.

For as long as I’ve been an amateur hack, speculation has been rife relating to the long-term future of our Spanish goalkeeper, David de Gea.

The 28-year-old has, as we all know, been linked with a move to Real Madrid but that particular exit route appeared to have been closed when the Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, moved to the Bernabeu in the summer.

However, speculation still insisted that de Gea might not be willing to extend his Manchester United career.

Thankfully, that is something that now appears to be about to be put to bed with the tabloid publication, the
Mirror, championing the inference that the Spaniard is now on course to sign a new deal and commit his future to Manchester United Football Club.

If that is the case, it is, to me, as good as the club announcing a major signing.
