De Gea Deal Falls Through!

Would you believe it!

It seems that two of the biggest clubs in the world, Manchester United and Real Madrid, after contriving to do a deal, were beaten by the clock.

With the transfer window, in Spain, closing last night it seems that the urgency to get all the paperwork done, paperwork that would have seen David De Gea sign for the Spanish giants, didn`t quite all fall into place.

Reports suggest that the paperwork reached the required destination at one minute past the required deadline.

Naturally both sides are blaming each other with a spokesman from Real Madrid commenting about the situation,

“It`s a fiasco and United are completely to blame.”

Now whether that`s true or not I`m sure Manchester United will produce a counter-argument.

Reading between the lines it appears that Manchester united agreed a fee of £29 million for the 24-year-old Spaniard and the deal would have seen the Real Madrid keeper, Keylor Navas, come to Old Trafford.

Naturally with the deal in tatters Real Madrid are perplexed and there is talk of an appeal to both the Spanish authorities and FIFA.

Knowing the way Real Madrid tend to get their way I wouldn`t be surprised if the appeal succeeds when surely the proper response should be, tough – you`ve had all summer to sort this out and dilly-dallied!
