David Ornstein on United “Takeover could be coming very soon”

|

Football journalist David Ornstein has revealed that the deal to sell Manchester United is getting closer.

Whilst being on the American television channel CBS last night for the Leeds United vs Manchester City, Ornstein said “You’ve got to watch this space on that takeover because it could be coming very soon.”

With the English journalist confirming this news, it seems like a takeover could happen at any time at Old Trafford, however, most journalists reported a few weeks ago that United would be looking to confirm the sale of the club around the spring of 2023.

We will have to see what happens but many businesses are interested in taking over United, reports that Apple are interested seemed to create fake news which might have benefitted the Glazers in the long term by getting more money added onto the sale with the interest from more companies and businesses.

As we know the American owners will look to sell to the highest bidder although some reports have come out recently saying that the Glazers would look to sell the club to fellow American owners as they know that the new owners would have a similar look on all things football and businesses with the club.

The problem with this could be that United get new American owners who could run the club the same as the Glazers which some say do not care about the club or run like newly bought Chelsea under American owner Todd Boehly, where he wants to be involved in most things at the club.

It could benefit the red team in Manchester to have Middle Eastern owners as the way they run their football clubs is considered more the traditional and right way by getting football people in high positions so the club can do well and be successful whilst the business side of the club is doing well which keeps the owners engaged.

Who would you prefer to buy United?
