Cristiano Ronaldo using Real Madrid facilities

|

Former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo is now training at Real Madrid’s training base after Portugal’s elimination from the World Cup in order to keep up his fitness according to Spanish media outlet, Relevo [via Fabrizio Romano].

The former United number 7 is without a club after United terminated his contract with the club last month following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, in which he criticised the club and was critical of Erik ten Hag.

Since that month has passed, Ronaldo has been with Portugal at the World Cup and despite starting the first three games and scoring a penalty in his side’s opening game of the tournament, Ronaldo found himself on the bench for what proved to be Portugal’s last two games at the World Cup.

Ronaldo came on in the second half of Portugal’s 1-0 defeat to Morocco and Saturday and now that he is without a club, he has asked Real Madrid if he can use their facilities, and they gladly accepted their legendary star’s offer to do so.

Ronaldo still enjoys a healthy and positive relationship with the Real Madrid President, Fiorentino Perez, who signed Ronaldo back in 2009 and he delivered in fine fashion as he helped the club win two La Liga titles and four Champions League triumphs in what was a stellar career for the Portuguese in Madrid [realmadrid.com].

According to the tweet above from Fabrizio Romano, it says that Ronaldo was training away from the Real Madrid first team and on a separate pitch.

It remains fascinating to see what happens with Ronaldo’s future as reports emerged saying that Al Nassr were prepared to pay a whopping £200 million a year for the megastar to play in Saudi Arabia [ESPN], but Romano on his Instagram account notes that whilst the offer is there, Ronaldo has not accepted it at this stage.
