Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has made the French media outlet L’EQUIPE’s 2022 team of the year.
The Brazilian has been integral to United this season, putting in consistent performances and gelling well with the team. The 30-year-old came from Real Madrid in the summer for a deal worth up to £60 million.
He signed on a 4-year contract and was announced to the Old Trafford faithful on the 23rd of August before the United vs Liverpool game, which the Reds went on to win.

He made his debut four days later in an away win at Southampton, as he came off the bench, however, his best performance in the prestigious red shirt came against Chelsea on the 28th of October in a 1-1 draw where the former Sáo Paulo scored a late equaliser in what was his first goal for the Red Devils.
Most recently he played in the World Cup featuring in four of the five games, with the only game he did not appear in resulting in Brazil losing 1-0 to Cameroon in their last group stage match.
Casemiro scored in the second game with seven minutes to go in what proved to be a vital goal against Switzerland which meant the South American country claimed all three points as they went on to finish top of Group G.

When one of the best central defensive midfielders ever was announced at Old Trafford, United manager Erik Ten Hag said “He is the cement between the stones. That’s what we have looking for in the summer. We’ve found him and I am really happy.”[Sky Sports]
With former Real Madrid and current United player Raphaël Varane apparently being a big part in the transfer, he looks to have settled well into the team as he approaches the second half of his first season at United.
