A Mere Four Points Out Of The Nine Available, Is Ole Out Of His Depth At Manchester United?

|

Still trying desperately to catch up with the backlog of articles I was unable to publish due to a lack of wi-fi whilst on holiday, here’s a reflection on what was a disappointing day at Old Trafford when Manchester United lost to Crystal Palace, last weekend.

Result: Manchester United 1-2 Crystal Palace
Scorer: James (89)

Based on last Saturday’s inept performance against Crystal Palace, I think our chances of lifting a record 21st Championship at the end of this season is merely a pipe dream.

And, a Top 4 finish is absolutely not a “give me.”

How hurtful is it to think that for the fifth time in the seven seasons since the Greatest Manager in the World, Sir Alex Ferguson, retired at the end of the 2012-13 season, Manchester United, England’s most famous team, could finish a campaign outside the Top 4.

For me, that is not only unthinkable but completely unbelievable. It is not the Manchester United way. Since the inaugural Premier League season, up until the Boss retired, guess how many times we did not finish in the Top 4 at the end of a season? So that’s 21 seasons from 1992-93 to 2012-13.

If I said just once would you be impressed? Of course, you would. Well, the answer is Never. And, we never finished lower than 3rd spot under The Boss in the Premier League era. As the former Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez, once said: The Guardian

“That’s a Fact!”

So? What do you pinpoint as the problem?

We had 71% possession to the visitors’ 29%.

We had 22 shots to Palace’s 5.

We were level on shots on target, 3-3.

And 8 corners for us against 1 solitary corner for Palace.

But the most important statistic is we got zero points, giving us 4 points from the 9 available in our first three Premiership games.

I have three questions which I wish to put to my Fellow Reds:

1. Is our squad simply just not good enough to win the Premier League?

2. Do you think we can win a trophy this season?

3. Or, is Ole just simply out of his depth as the manager of Manchester United?

I think we red fans need to be patient a little bit Premier league is becoming more competitive these days,I believe man utd will be fine and will win either one or two trophies this season. All these lower team devices means of playing a bigger and tougher team; Van Arlnort, the guy who score their winning goal said, they reheased their game plans for over a week, knowing fully well United will attack, possess and control the game, the only way to defeat United is for them to catch United and kill them(United)with their own dose; which is counter attack. They played well but we’re just unlucky.
