A Battling As Opposed To Dazzling Performance Brings Manchester United The Same Three-Point Reward

|

It’s fair to say, as far as performances go, since Ole Gunnar Solksjaer took over, the one given at the King Power Stadium, against Leicester City, was more workmanlike than dazzling.

After taking an early lead, courtesy of a good finish from Marcus Rashford, Manchester United had to battle to keep a Leicester City side at bay, a side who had already, this season, recorded victories over our top-four rivals Chelsea and Manchester City whilst also getting a very creditable draw, in midweek, against Liverpool at Anfield.

But battle away Manchester United did and although there were a couple of scares, it’s fair to say that Manchester United could have put the game out of Leicester City’s reach in the second half if they’d taken their chances.

Following the win, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s ninth in his ten games in charge, the boss had this to say to Sky Sports and as reported by the BBC,

“Our attitude was spot on.

“There are a couple of bruised noses and knees.

“It is supposed to be like this. There are three points on the line. Our lads sacrificed everything they had. They know they can do better than this but a clean sheet is always a foundation to build on.”

Manchester United’s recent form has set them up for the remainder of the season if they can continue in such a rich vein, who knows what rewards the season might bring!
