I`m not one who attends England games or even someone that tends to tune in to watch them on the television.

However, I have to say that don`t agree with Louis van Gaal when, at his pre-match press conference ahead of the visit from Arsenal this Sunday, the Dutchman advocated that Luke Shaw be rested this summer and to not be chosen for the European U21 Championships this summer.

Our Dutch boss is of the opinion that the teenager needs rest, remarking about the situation,

‘When you are not playing for Man Utd you cannot play for other teams,

‘He needs the rest because he has over-crossed the line. He is 19. We have to protect him. I hope that the coach of the Under-21 understands that.’

I hope he doesn`t and I hope that Luke Shaw, along with all the other bright and talented youngsters this country has, are also selected.

If not, we shouldn`t even bother entering these competitions!
