Your Chance To Say Just What Kind Of Start To The 2019 / 2020 Season Manchester United Will Get Off To

|

The long wait is almost over.

After a string of pre-season friendly fixtures the new 2019 / 2020 season gets underway, for Manchester United this Sunday when we welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.

As far as opening day fixtures go, it is fair to say it is an intriguing one with the West London side now being managed by Frank Lampard.

With Manchester United looking to make the Premier League title race, this season, much closer than last season, when Manchester City and Liverpool disappeared over the horizon, we’re all hoping that the side gets off to a good start, even more so after the disappointing manner in which they finished the 2018 / 2019 season.

But, looking at the first three fixtures, reproduced below:

• Chelsea (h)
• Wolverhampton Wanderers (a)
• Crystal Palace (h)

Manchester United have not been handed the easiest of starts.

But, our question to you is – how many points do you believe Manchester United will accumulate from those first three games?

Please feel free to drop your prediction into the comment facility beneath this article, it’ll be interesting to see how confident you all are.

We will maybe win Crystal Palace. We are not good enough for Chelsea and Wolves

Deplorable start draw with Chelsea and then lose to wolves. No midfield enforcement. We needed a defensive midfielder and attacking but got Harry Maguire instead. Maybe we can play him in midfield. All this sh#te about putting more quality players around pogba and we give him nothing. We are a joke. No winger or striker either so we look set to finish below teams like wolves Everton and maybe west ham and Leicester. I predict a grand finish of 8th

As a United supporter, I am sorry to say that United have no chance this season.
Matic is beyond his best, and was when Mourinho spent £40,m on him a couple of seasons ago. McTominay is good, but not a defensive midfielder, but reasonable cover for the now departed Hererra. Declan Rice would have been an ideal buy – young, english and hungry – but did not want to go to United (maybe just this season, or maybe at all ??). Thomas Partey of Athletico Madrid was vocal at the start of the transfer season that he wanted a transfer and that he had a £45,m release clause, but no bid has been made. Talk of Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio has been doing the rounds, yet nothing has happened. He was more of a defensive midfielder during his Genk days. James Garner has not had a fair try in pre-season and looks like he will be shipped out of loan. With Pogba more of an attacking midfielder, Premiership teams will slice through our midfield easily.
Ole and Ed, you have missed a trick in not getting a defensive midfielder

I cannot see utd starting or finishing well at all. What worries me more about the club is woodward still in charge of the transfer finances. Every season we see him tighten the purse strings and loose high profile players who could have improved the club. Im sad to say it but as long as he is charge of the club utd will soon drop down to where they will find it hard to recover and be a force to be reckoned with like they once were.
