As always seems to be the case on a Sunday, transfer speculation abounds relating to Manchester United.

The latest piece of speculation, courtesy of the Mail on Sunday, links Manchester United with a move for a young Spanish midfielder.

According to our aforementioned source, Manchester United are very keen on securing the services of Carlos Soler.

At just 20-years-of-age, the Spanish U21 midfielder has become a regular at Valencia and is attracting rave reviews.

Our source is inferring that Jose Mourinho sees Soler as the last piece of a midfield jigsaw that would see him fit in perfectly with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.

However, Soler won`t come cheap. His current contract contains a buy-out clause said to be of the magnitude of £75 million.

But, the feeling expressed by our source is that Valencia, who have financial issues, won`t hold out for that amount, probably accepting much less, with a figure of £30 million being suggested.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll keep a watchful eye out for any further updates and report back as deemed necessary.
