The sigh of disappointment that went round Old Trafford when Arsenal scored their late equalizer was only drowned out by the roar of the visiting fans.

It was one of those moments whereby you just knew our season wasn`t going to end as we hoped it would.

At the final whistle that dejection could be seen on the faces of the players who were aware that late goal had probably cost us third place in the Premier League and subjected us to a qualifying tie for the Champions League next season.

Ashley Young, who claimed the assist for the goal scored by Ander Herrera, had this to say to the media after the 1-1 draw,

‘You saw the players at the end; we let it slip and let Arsenal back into it. We looked comfortable.

‘I am delighted with my own performance but it is about the team and we showed spirit.

‘I am happy with how things have gone but we would like to have gone out with a win. I am doing well for the team, getting assists and goals and delighted the manager has shown faith in me.’

Young has, quite possibly, been one of the most improved players in the squad this season and he can be proud of what he has achieved, all he needs now is a recall to the England squad to cap off a good season for the player who many thought might well be leaving last summer.
