Ashley Young, on Sky Sports, deservedly picked up the man-of-the-match award.

On his Premier League debut for Manchester united, the ex-Aston Villa forward looked comfortable on the ball and always looked our best chance of sneaking a hard-fought victory.

An assist for the first goal, scored by Wayne Rooney, was followed by a dart-back from the by-line which resulted in an own goal to give us all those three points.

Although his running style may be deceptive, Young appears to have settled down quickly in his first few weeks at Old Trafford and could well be an influential figure over the coming months.

Speaking about his summer signing, Sir Alex had this to say,

“He has good composure on the ball and is a threat but he had a few crosses blocked.”

“Getting to a byline is a dangerous thing, that`s where the goal came from.”

Not too much praise, but then again doesn`t Sir Alex like to keep their feet firmly on the ground?
