It is great to see that Manchester United are no longer pussy-footing around and that they are now playing hard-ball when it comes to the future of David De Gea.

For too long we`ve sat back and pondered over whether the Spanish goalkeeper will be leaving Old Trafford for the Bernabeu or whether he`d be staying.

We`ve listed to all sorts of waffle coming our way in relation to what kind of price Real Madrid will be looking to pay for De Gea, as little as £13 million was the figure being bandied about at one stage.

Now, with Real Madrid scurrying around and trying to do a deal, Manchester United, according to the local Manchester media, have stood up to be counted and told Real Madrid if they want David De Gea on their books it is going to cost them a lot of wonga!

In fact the amount United will ask Real Madrid for will make David De Gea the world`s most expensive goalkeeper.

Now with the current record transfer fee for a goalkeeper, standing at £33 million the fee Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon, we could be in for quite a windfall if Real Madrid are brave enough to sign that mammoth cheque.
