Nemanja Vidic firmly denied that he had said anything about wanting to change clubs, even though rumours about that appeared in the papers over the last week. However, he asks us to forget the papers and focus on performances.

‘The first thing to say is that I have personally never said anything about Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan or any club,’ he said.

‘It’s other people speaking about it. I never speak about my future so I don’t really know why someone else does.

‘I showed at Wigan on the pitch how I played and how happy I am at this club.

‘Anyone who is a fan of United or the players would only have to see how I played to know how committed I am to the club.

‘I have spoken with my agent. I know about all the rumours about me but I don’t want it to have an impact on the club.

‘It’s not a good time for my club to be hearing those rumours. I’m here and I’m committed. I’ll show that with how I play in matches.’

We saw at Wigan just how committed he was – fully, as always. He was one hundred percent determined and focussed. That’s all what matters, as far as I’m concerned. He’s not going anywhere, the tabloids should accept that fact.

Oh, by the way, Vidic denied, for the second time, that his wife was unhappy in Manchester. His reasoning was relatively simple: who would she have told that? She’s not a famous wife, Nemanja argued. Which is a fair point even though I happen to believe that the Ana-disliking-gloomy-England rumours might have some substance… but I have no evidence, obviously, it’s just that it pops up way too often.
