James Wilson has secured the loan move Jose Mourinho had informed he was needed as he wasn’t in his firs-team plans this season.

Wilson, who made the latest of his loan exits to Brighton last season, has been loaned to Nigel Pearson’s Derby side so he’ll spend the remainder of this season in the Championship once more.

Pearson told the official Derby website he appreciated United agreeing to this loan and hopes he can prove successful at the iPro Stadium.

‘We’re delighted to have agreed to bring James Wilson the club on a season-long loan. I hope that this loan deal will prove to be mutually beneficial for all parties and I would like to place on record our thanks to Manchester United for allowing James to join us. He is an energetic player who will add to our existing attacking options.’

This is another loan Wilson needed as the 20-year-old hasn’t been involved in a Premier League match for United since October of last year and that wasn’t going to change this season either was it.

A good loan move for all concerned.
