Will It Be Rome Or Milan For Out Of Favour Manchester United Defender

|

In an article we published at the back end of last month, we jumped to the conclusion that Chris Smalling could well be staying at Roma on a permanent basis.

Our article – manchester-united-will-not-sanction-loan-deals-for-these-two-players – was based on the publication of the 30-year-old defender wearing Roma’s kit for the 2020 / 2021 season.

However, it now seems we may have pre-empted the situation.

Lurking in the pages of The Gazzetta is the insinuation that Smalling could well be set to leave Old Trafford but for the delights of Milan as opposed to those of Rome with Inter Milan having been impressed by his exploits in Serie A last season.

While there may be some confusion as to where Smalling might be playing his football next season, one thing does look certain, it won’t be at Old Trafford.

Here at Vital Manchester United, we’ll endeavour to keep a watchful eye on the situation and report back as deemed necessary.
