A case or either or neither possibly?

With Dani Alves leading us all up the garden path and signing a new contract at the Nou Camp rather than leave Barcelona, as he was suggesting, the press have started to uncover a couple of alternatives that might fill the void Alves was supposed to fill.

Two names put forward today contain one which is new to the equation and one that is pretty familiar.

Starting with the pretty familiar name, the possible acquisition of the Southampton right back, 24-year-old Nathaniel Clyne, has reared its head again but with it looking as if Clyne wants to remain, for now, at the south-coast club this could be a non-starter.

Continuing with the non-familiar name, it is being inferred that Louis van Gaal is interested in a Dutchman he knows well, one Gregory van der Wiel, a 27-year-old who is currently on the books of the French side Paris St-Germain.

If a deal for either could be engineered, which of the two would you prefer?
