Well, I Didn’t See That Prediction Coming For The Game Against Liverpool

|

Sometimes, life can be full of surprises and today I’ve just stumbled upon one.

Searching through many media sources, searching for inspiration to pen an article, I came across something on the BBC, that made me stop and look twice.

With Manchester United making the difficult looking trip to Anfield, to take on Liverpool this Sunday, I expected the BBC pundit, Mark Lawrenson, to boldly predict a Liverpool win.

After all the former Liverpool defender has strong ties with the club who also lead the Premier League.

But no, I was wrong.

Instead, in predicting the outcome of the game, Lawrenson is tipping it to be a draw.

In coming to that surprising decision, the former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender has written:

“The way Liverpool are playing and winning at the moment means everyone is expecting them to beat United, but they have really struggled to get past them at Anfield when Mourinho has been in charge.

“United may not be firing on all cylinders but they are dogged and determined – and they have already picked up a couple of excellent results on the road at Chelsea and Juventus this season.

“So, we know United are capable of producing a decent performance, and we also know that it tends to happen when they are playing a team that is better than them.

“That is Sunday’s scenario, and I am expecting Mourinho to set his side up to frustrate Liverpool and pinch a point.”

After recovering from reading the above, is it too much to expect Manchester United to go one better and frustrate Liverpool but also to snatch a last-gasp winner?

Now that would silence our growing band of critics!
