As we head towards the final third of the season Manchester United are still chasing trophies on three fronts.

The club still has a great chance of winning silverware in the EFL Cup, the FA Cup and the Europa League.

But the biggest priority this season has to be ensuring the club finishes in the top four and qualifies for the Champions League next season.

A failure to do so would be a financial disaster for a club of our size.

But, with the club chasing silverware on three fronts is there a danger that or main priority could be damaged by a plethora of fixtures?

At his pre-match press conference, ahead of the Europa League clash with St Etienne at Old Trafford this Thursday evening, Jose Mourinho touched on that very subject, remarking to the journalists assembled,

‘We cannot choose competitions. We play competitions to win.

‘FA Cup, League Cup… it’s really hard for us and if we progress in competitions in April and May we will be in trouble.”

The gap between Manchester United in sixth and Arsenal in fourth is just 2/b> points with 13 games remaining.

Like us, Arsenal are also involved in the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Manchester City and Tottenham, are also involved in the FA Cup and the Champions League and Europa League respectively.

Which kind of pours water on Jose`s fire if you ask me!

But what are your views on the subject matter?

We`d be interested to read them in our comments facility.
