Down at Villa Park, Manchester United`s loan keeper, Sam Johnstone, continues to make a huge impression.

The 24-year-old, on a season long loan with the Championship club, has become a pivotal part of the Aston Villa first team.

On Saturday, as Aston Villa cemented their claims for a Championship promotion place, Johnstone made one stunning save keeping out an effort from the Fulham striker, Floyd Ayite.

Steve Bruce, no stranger to Manchester United, has spoken about his desire to hold on the keeper, with the local news source, the Birmingham Mail, reproducing quotes attributed to Steve which read

“We will do everything in our power to buy him from Manchester United.

“He`s got another year left on his United deal but he`s going to find it difficult to break through there because of what they`ve got.

“Players like that need to find a platform.”

With Johnstone way down the pecking order at Old Trafford, as long as the price is right Steve Bruce may well get his wish.
