Now retired, after a distinguished career that included a trophy laden spell with Manchester United, our former Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic is contemplating his future.

Vidic, now thirty-four years of age, spent eight and a half years at Old Trafford, a spell in which he won the Premier League title five times and the Champions League, has been speaking to MUTV about what the future might hold for him.

It transpires that Nemanja wants to join the growing ranks of ex-players who progress into club management with Vidic quipping on MUTV,

‘I believe my back can handle the bench. I would like to be a manager.’

Now whether Vidic would cut the mustard as a manager remains to be seen.

The game is littered with ex-players who tried their hand at being a manager but didn`t match what they`d achieved on the pitch.

I wonder whether Vidic will go all the way or fall by the wayside?

Your thoughts on the subject matter would be greatly appreciated.
