The saga of whether the Belgian international defender, Thomas Vermaelen, will become a Manchester United player before the new season commences, continues to take new twists and turns.
Yesterday we reported that United`s interest might have suffered a huge blow with the Spanish giants of Barcelona showing an interest, an interest that might have appealed to Arsenal more than a possible sale to a Premier League title rival like us.
Today though there is another twist though with it being reported that the Belgian has no intention of discussing a new contract with the North London club and is, instead, looking to force through a move.
Furthermore, it appears that Arsenal, aware that he is entering the last year of his current contract, could be reaching a compromise relating to a possible sale.
Having already bid, so it is being reported, £7 million for the centre back, we`re now led to believe that a bid of £10 million could secure a deal!
