Don`t` write Robin Van Persie off!

Although the Dutch striker is now 31-years-old, it seems he is determined to do his utmost to continue to play at the highest level for as long as he can before dropping into a lower grade of football.

Indeed the Dutch striker has ambitions of playing on for another eight years before finally hanging up those famous scoring boots.

Last season Van Persie managed just 10 goals in a season hit by injuries, but when pressed on his United future perhaps being in doubt, Van Persie remarked,

“Am I worried? No, I`m totally relaxed. I have a contract with this club until 2016.

“Things could change but that depends on Manchester United, not me. I still have the ambition to play for another eight years.

“In a few years I may have to accept that I will no longer play at the highest level. I don`t think that moment is coming now. I still feel very fit.”

So, reading between the lines, I`d suggest Van Persie has every intention of being at Old Trafford next season, but the big question is, will he be?

What are your thoughts on the subject matter?
