The Old Trafford career of our Dutch striker, Robin van Persie appears to have come to a crossroads.

Gossip appearing in several news sources suggests that the Dutchman might, in the search for regular first team football, be set to sever his ties with Manchester United Football Club.

Last season wasn`t the best of times for Van Persie with his season blighted by injuries and with one year left on his current contract, said to be worth £220,000 a week, it could well be time for the club and the thirty-one year-old to part company.

Speaking about his predicament, Van Persie has remarked to the media,

“I want to play every week at a high level at a big club.

“The club have to do some homework, so will I.

“I will take everything into consideration and weigh up what is best in this strange situation.

“This is the big boys world. Louis van Gaal is not the coach of Robin van Persie he is the coach of Manchester United.

“He has to deal with 25 players and it`s not all about me. I can handle whatever the situation is this summer.”

Whatever does happen I`m sure that in the event of Robin van Persie coming on to the market there will be no shortage of takers.
