One of the positive aspects of the 1-1 draw against Sunderland, as well as picking up our first Premier League point of the season, was the return of Robin Van Persie.

The Dutch striker, having taken a break after his World Cup exploits with Holland, was given a start by Louis van Gaal for the first time this season.

Although van Persie didn`t last the full ninety minutes his availability gives United an added dimension to our play.

After the game, Van Persie spoke about the game, remarking,

‘In possession we were a bit too sloppy. I did work with Louis van Gaal for two years, he is very clear of what he asks from every player in the team. Of course where I can I will help.”

‘Everyone has faith and everyone believes in his staff and our players because we have great players. We have played two games and we only have one point, we would have loved six points but that didn’t happen and we need to bounce back.”

‘I feel fit, I feel good and I am looking forward to the next minutes.’

Now whether they`ll be in the Capital One Cup tie against MK Dons or in the Premier League next weekend remains to be seen.
