One piece of news published by one tabloid publication on the news-stands this morning carries an interesting suggestion.

It tries to promote the idea that Louis van Gaal would prefer it if our left-back, Luke Shaw, were not to play for England in the vital Euro qualifier against Slovenia on 7th June.

It`s suggested that our Dutch boss want to give his charge a rest whilst Roy Hodgson would prefer him to be available for selection for his country.

Now, for all I know it could be true but what puzzles me is as a former Dutch national boss I`d suspect Louis van Gaal was often frustrated by non-availability of certain players and would do all he can to prevent Hodgson being frustrated.

Or did that cap get thrown away when he arrived at Old Trafford?
