Van Gaal Answers Stoichkov`s Criticism!

With the move for the Barcelona forward Pedro still generating media column inches, although I have no idea whether the player is coming to Old Trafford or whether he might pitch up at the Etihad Stadium, it was interesting to read that one former player who has graced the world best stages, Hristo Stoichkov, ha surged Pedro not to leave Barcelona for Manchester United.

The Bulgarian, now well-retired, suggested that Louis van Gaal would destroy Pedro`s talent in something that could be seen as a defamatory attack.

However, Louis van Gaal used the pre-match press conference, ahead of the visit to Villa Park, to get across his own point of view when it came to responding to Stoichkov`s comments, expertly replying,

‘I always consider who is saying these things. Stoichkov is one of the players I sent away [at Barcelona]. What is said is not always the truth. There are more players who speak highly of me.’
