The last week or so has been an eventful one for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

In the space of 24 hours the midfielder declared that he was, after his recent exertions in the Euro 2016 Finals, quitting international football after a glorious career playing for Germany.

Schweinsteiger also found out that he was in three words, surplus to requirement, at Old Trafford.

Bastian was, no doubt, the biggest name named by Jose Mourinho as not being involved in his plans.

Today, the Manchester Evening News is reporting that Bastian Schweinsteiger is training with the Manchester United U23 squad as United seek a buyer for the player who only arrived at the club last summer.

Today is a special day for Bastian, it is his 32nd birthday, I`m sure Bastian will hold a family celebration tonight and try to put to the back of his mind that his current status in the squad has left him training far away from the first team squad he thought he`d be gracing when he signed on the dotted line last summer.
