A couple of seasons ago, there was a striker on the books of Manchester United who many tipped to become the next home-grown first team player.

But unfortunately, things didn`t quite turn out as planned.

James Wilson, still just 21-years-of-age, had made an instant impact when introduced to the first-team courtesy of the striker department being hit with something of an injury crisis.

The following season, in order to give Wilson some much-needed regular first-team football, Wilson was sent out on a season-long loan spell to Brighton.

In his absence, a certain Marcus Rashford came through the system and, as they say, the rest is history.

However, Wilson could be about to get a chance to re-ignite his career with the opportunity of going out on loan.

According to the Express, the former Manchester United defender, Steve Bruce, now doing a great job of reviving the fortunes of Aston Villa, down in the Championship, is looking towards taking Wilson on-loan in the January transfer window to ease his striking crisis.
