Earlier this week a piece of speculation all had us raising our eyebrows in disbelief.

It was suggested, and as covered by Vital Manchester United, Click Here, that the club were willing to meet the staggering buy-out clause in the contract of the Brazilian striker, Neymar, currently on the books of the Catalan giants, Barcelona.

The fee mentioned was a colossal £173 million!

Well it appears that such talk was misplaced with Jose Mourinho confirming as such in an interview he recently gave to ESPEN Brazil and as reported upon by the media vehicle Metro.

Talking about a possible capture of the player Jose is quoted by our source as having remarked,

“I always try to be objective and pragmatic with the clubs and ask the clubs for what can be given to me.

‘Neymar is absurd. A club like Barcelona cannot and will not lose Neymar.

‘Although Lionel Messi is still a young player with years to go – he is still playing well at the age of 30 – but Neymar will be Barcelona`s great player after Messi.”

Oh well, the dream was good whilst it lasted.
