It`s been at least seventy-two hours since any transfer tittle-tattle appeared in the media relating to that old chestnut about David de Gea joining Real Madrid.

Sadly, we didn`t think it`d be too long before the names of our keeper and that lot from the Bernabeu were linked in the same sentence.

Today, lurking in the pages of a leading red-top publication, the Mirror, is the suggestion that Real Madrid are willing to do a deal with Manchester United.

According to our referenced source, if Manchester United insist on pursuing Real Madrid`s Welsh star, 28-year-old Gareth Bale then a deal will only go ahead if Manchester United agree to let de Gea move in the opposite direction.

My view is that it should be a no-go, to me De Gea is far more of an asset than Bale would be to the squad.

But what is your opinion on the subject matter?
