It may be heralded as something that may well upset the apple-cart but, if true, we`re amongst those who reckon it is the right way to go.

This morning one of the red-top publications has run an article, labeled as an exclusive, that implies that the Glazer family are set to alter the manner in which salaries are paid at Old Trafford.

The inference being that salary renewals will be made with the salary fixed at a lower level but with a generous incentive scheme.

Now whilst the players will be aghast at the prospect of not picking up the colossal sums that they normally bank each week, colossal sums that anger the majority of the support who slave away week in and week out knowing their annual salary will not even touch what they earn in a week, it has to be the way forward.

Surely, the days of mega-salaries cannot be sustained and the way forward is a more sensible salary augmented by bonuses for doing what they should be doing – winning trophies.

The Glazer family may have upset numerous people since taking over the club but could this be one initiative that meets with the approval of the clubs support?

Any views would be most welcome!
