Manchester United welcome West Ham United to Old Trafford, this Wednesday, for an FA Cup 3rd round replay.

United, as they have done so many times in the past, scored a late goal, courtesy of Robin van Persie, to rescue what looked like an early cup exit at Upton Park, hopefully, we`ll not leave things that late tomorrow.

For the fixture, Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to welcome back Wayne Rooney to his starting eleven with the striker having been out injured since picking up a knee injury in training on Christmas Day.

Another being welcomed back is Nani with the Portuguese flyer now back after a two month lay-off with a hamstring injury.

But, it is likely that we`ll not be witnessing Nemanja Vidic and Ashley Young in the starting eleven. Both players picked up knocks in the fixture against Liverpool, on Sunday. Scans have subsequently revealed no serious problems but neither are expected to be risked.

As for our opponents, they too have injury problems with Sam Allardyce struggling for defenders. Joey O`Brien, James Collins and George McCartney all ruled out leaving Sam with just three fit defenders.

Elsewhere in the West Ham squad, Sam has problems up front. His new signing, on loan, Marouane Chamakh is cup-tied, Andy Carroll is still injured whilst Modibo Maiga is away on African Nations Cup duty.

Sam could turn to his new signing, the wonderfully named Wellington Paulista but is likely to turn to Carlton Cole and Ricardo Vaz Te.

With the tie being shown live on ITV and with the tie having to be settled on the night, we`re hoping that United can sweep aside West Ham and set up a 4th round tie against the winners of the replay between Blackpool and Fulham.
