With any hopes of winning the Premier League title long gone and a chance of Europa League glory ending at the first hurdle, the FA Cup remains our one hope of winning a trophy this season.

This afternoon, at Wembley Stadium, Everton Football Club stands between Manchester United, Louis van Gaal and an FA Cup Final appearance against either Watford or Crystal Palace.

Ahead of the game we`ve dug deep into the record and form books to bring you a selection of interesting facts.

? This is the third time the two clubs have met in an FA Cup semi-final, the two previous occasions have seen Everton emerge victorious. Back in 1966 Everton won 1-0 and in 2009 Everton went through on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Wembley.

? Altogether, the two sides have met eleven times in the FA Cup, Everton have the upper hand winning six of those ties compared to the five by Manchester United.

? Away from cup competition, Manchester have won three of the last four meetings. This season Manchester United won both the Premier League fixtures without conceding a goal.

? On the last two occasions Manchester united have reached the FA Cup semi-finals they lost, against Everton in 2009 and Manchester City in 2011.

? Previous to those two defeats against Everton and Manchester City, United had progressed to 13 out of 13 finals, from a semi-final berth.

? When it comes to matches at Wembley Stadium, Manchester United have won just 4 out of their last 13 appearances.

? The last time Manchester United won an FA Cup game at Wembley was back in 1999 when they beat Newcastle in the FA Cup Final.
