The Under-18s are coming off the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend in the FA Youth Cup and they will be hoping for more of the same in the league this afternoon.
There are four changes from the team that defeated Palace, which sees Willy Kambwala, Jack Moorhouse, Adam Berry and Ethan Wheatley come in for Tyler Fredricson, Dan Gore, Ethan Williams and Sam Mather. Sonny Aljofree skippers United in today’s clash against Middlesbrough.
United have only played six times this season in the league but having said that in a tightly congested league, if United see off Middlesbrough today then they will go level on points with Everton in sixth place, who have played four more games than the Young Reds this season, so this game presents a huge opportunity and motivation to get three points.
Even though, there are four changes from the Palace, the confidence within the group should be high after beating a good side Palace side, because with several games in hand on the teams above them, United should be motivated to start climbing up that table.
Kick-off has been delayed by 15 minutes according to the club’s official website [Man Utd]. The game was originally due to take place at 12pm UK time, but because of the delayed kick-off time, the match will now kick off at 12.15 UK time.
